Mary Florence Smith Tuttle

Mary Florence Smith Tuttle, 87, of Siler City died Monday, May 22, 2017 at UNC Hospitals. Mrs. Tuttle was born in Montgomery County on April 15, 1930 the daughter of Odus F. and Mary Della (Davis) Smith. Florence was a member of Loves Creek Baptist Church and she attended the Siler City First United Methodist Church. She had worked at Taylor Drug Store and Rexall Drug Store. Florence enjoyed baking cakes and sharing them with others. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold "Whitey" Tuttle; her parents; sister, Leoda S. Atnip.

Florence is survived by one daughter: Teresa Tuttle Cunnup of Siler City; grandson, Chance Cunnup and wife, Jill of Siler City; great-grandchildren, Brady and Abigail Cunnup; one sister: Rachel S. Brewer of Greensboro.

A graveside service will be held Thursday, May 25, 2017 at 2:00 PM at Loves Creek Baptist Cemetery, 1745 East 11th Street, Siler City with William Fields officiating. The family will be at the home of Chance Cunnup, 3252 Rives Chapel Church Road, Siler City.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Shriner's Children's Hospital % Arman Temple, 11101 Creedmoor Road, Raleigh, NC  27614 or to the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association, Mid-Atlantic Affilliate, 4217 Park Place Court, Glen Allen, VA 23060. Smith & Buckner Funeral Home is assisting the family.
