Mary Ellis

Mary Ellis 82, of Charlie Fields Road, Pittsboro died Sunday, May 17, 2015 at Sanford Health & Rehab, Sanford. Mrs. Ellis was born in Berlin Germany on December 26, 1932. While living in Germany, Mary taught kindergarten. After moving to the United States, she worked as a nurse's assistant. Mary enjoyed fishing, playing cards, Bingo, working in crossword books, watching science fiction movies. She, also, enjoyed the times she was at Piedmont Health Care Services. Her greatest pleasures were times spent with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Bob Ellis. She is survived by two daughters: Rhonda Drake of Siler City, NC, Rita Evans and husband Dee of High Rock Lake, NC ; three sons: Ronnie Ellis and wife, Susie of Pittsboro, NC, Robert Ellis and wife, Betty of Bear Creek, NC, Roland Ellis and wife, Pam of Bear Creek, NC; numerous grandchildren, great- grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends Tuesday, May 19, 2015 from 4:00 - 5:30 pm at Smith & Buckner Funeral Home, 230 North Second Avenue, Siler City, NC and other times at 197 Charlie Fields Road, Pittsboro. The funeral will be Tuesday, May 19, 2015 at 6:00 PM at Smith & Buckner Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Wesley Thomas officiating. Burial will be in Rock Springs Baptist Cemetery, Pittsboro.
