Mary Carol Linnens Byrd, age 81, of Siler City died Thursday, December 31, 2015 at UNC Hospitals, Chapel Hill. Mrs. Byrd was born in Chatham County on July 8, 1934 the daughter of Charles and Mary Elizabeth (Frazier) Linnens. She was a homemaker and attended First Wesleyan Church of Siler City. Mary Carol was preceded in death by husband, Carl Thomas Byrd; son, Tony Lynn Byrd; step-grandson, Matthew Hoke and her parents. She is survived by two daughters: Beverly Byrd of Asheboro, NC, Stacy Byrd of Siler City, NC and one son: Charles Byrd of Siler City, NC; grandchildren, Pamela Byrd, Tonia Byrd, Tony Hogan, Michael Byrd, Carly Byrd and Maria Byrd; great-grandchildren, Adaishia Strickland, Haley Stickland, Emberlyn, Elizabeth, Payton Byrd, Chloe Grace Hogan, Adelyn Faith Taylor; step-grandchildren, Erin and James Hoke, Caitlin and Jordan Batten The family will receive friends Wednesday, January 6, 2016 from 2:00-4:00 PM at First Wesleyan Church, 608 N. 3rd Ave., Siler City, NC. The funeral will be Wednesday at First Wesleyan Church at 4:00 PM with Rev. Donald Southern, Rev. Jody Harrison and Rev. Darrin Locklear officiating.
