Martha Copeland Kirkpatrick

Martha Copeland Goldston Kirkpatrick, 88, of New Garden Road, Greensboro died Friday, June 13, 2014 at her home. Martha was born in Chatham County, NC on February 28, 1926. She was the daughter of Joseph Baxter Goldston, Sr. and Emma (Copeland) Goldston. She was of the Baptist Faith and was a retired receptionist for Lakeland Memorial Gardens in Way Cross, Georgia. She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Billy Joe Clifton and her grandson, Jarrett Freeman, Brother, J. B. Goldston and a sister, Virginia White. She is survived by two daughters: Martha Susan Clifton Freeman of Archdale, NC, Carol Clifton Freeman of Long, SC; grandchildren, Brad Clifton, Richard A. Freeman, Jr. and Laura Freeman; by her great-grandchildren; a sister: Mary Jordan and brother-in-law, Walter Jordan of Fayetteville, NC; numerous nieces and nephews; dear friends, Barbara, Scott, Georgeanna and Bessie. The family will receive friends Sunday, June 15, 2014 from 6 to 8 PM at Smith & Buckner Funeral Home, 230 North Second Avenue, Siler City, NC. A graveside service will be held 11:00 AM Monday, June 16, 2014 at Goldston Cemetery, The family wishes to thank Georgeanna and Bessie Womack, for their extraordinary selfless and truly Christian care given to Martha in her later years.
