Marion Galloway Wren, age 98, died on December 22, 2017. She was born in Greensboro, Guilford County and attended Greensboro High School where she was a cheerleader; She graduated from UNC-Greensboro, class of 1940.
She worked for the FBI during World War II in Charlotte, Norfolk and New York City. Marion was a member of First United Methodist Church in Siler City, served on the Administratiive Board and the Memorial Gifts Committee. She also served as President of United Methodist Women and as Chairman of Wesleyan Service Guild. She assisted in the nursery for a number of years.
Marion was an avid golfer and was the Club Championship at Sedgefield Country Club and at Siler City Country Club. She was named a Paul Harris Fellow by the Rotary Club of Siler City.
She is preceded in death by her son William Galloway Wren and her husband William Marcel Wren.
Marion is survived by daughter, Margaret Wren de St. Aubin and husband, Denis de St. Aubin; grandchildren, Sydney Dodd Farrar II, William Wren Farrar, and Denis Robert de St. Aubin, Jr..
The service will be held on December 24th at First United Methodist Church in Siler City with visitation at 1pm with the service to follow and private graveside afterwards.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the First United Methodist Church, P O Box 212, Siler City, NC and the Children's Home Society of North Carolina, P O Box 14608, Greensboro, NC 27415.
