Marie Brady Cockman

Marie Brady Cockman, 94, of Silk Hope, died Monday March 14, 2022.

Mrs. Cockman was born August 18, 1927 in Bennett NC, to Roland F. and Vaie Scott Brady. 

Marie was a graduate of Bennett High School and McClung's Business College in Greensboro NC. After graduation Marie was first employed as a secretary for the Greensboro Police Department. She then became a supervisor for Byrd's Food Stores in Burlington NC. Marie was people person, she never met a stranger. She was also a Sales Director for Cameo Couture Inc., Dallas Texas, A Director of Sales with For-You Inc, Lorris, SC. Marie loved to travel, she was a Tour Guide and hostess for Royal Tours Coach Co, Asheboro, NC for many years. Marie was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was a friend to all that knew her.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband William Ventress Cockman, and grandson Jarred Cockman.

Marie is survived by sons, Charles Carlos Cockman, wife Karen, and Reginald "Reggie" Cockman and wife Robin; grandchildren, Chelsea Trapp (Kevin) of Charlotte, Christina Cockman Causey (Joshua), and Jessica Cockman (Cade McIntyre) all of Siler City; brothers, Ledford Brady and Winfred Brady both of Bennett; and special niece Angie Brady-Andrew.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, March 16, 2022, at 11:00 am at Oakley Baptist Church 2300 Siler City Glendon Road, Siler City, with Dr. Jeff Johnson and Cecil Walters officiating.

Memorials may be made to the Oakley Baptist Church Cemetery fund or the Alzheimer's Association, 225 N. Michigan Ave, Fl 17, Chicago, IL 60601.
