Lucille Frazier Hayes, 88, of Staley died Friday, June 23, 2017 at the Siler City Center, Siler City.
Mrs. Hayes was born April 1, 1929 in Chatham County, the daughter of Jesse M. and Esther (Needham) Frazier. She was retired owner-operator of Frazier Service and Convenience Store, and also had worked at Carol's Cakes and Catering. Lucille was a member of Moon's Chapel Baptist Church. She loved her church and enjoyed doing word search. Lucille was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Foy L. "Dock" Hayes, sister, Dorothy Smith, step son, Ray Dock Hayes and step daughter, Peggy Sharpe.
She is survived by one son: Lewis Frazier (Jennifer) of Bear Creek; two sisters: Estelle Siler Ward and Evelyne McDaniel both of Siler City;, step daughter, Carol Smith and husband, Mike of Siler City, step sons, Robert Hayes and wife, Pam of Siler City and, Wayne Hayes and wife, Angelia of Lexington; grandchildren, Amanda Frazier; Joshua Frazier; Phillip Smith, Mitchell Smith, Kristin Coleman, Jennifer Hayes, Courtney Davis, Christopher Hayes, Lynn Hilliard, Shane Hilliard and Kenneth Hayes; 17 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Sunday, June 25, 2017 from 6 - 8 PM at Smith & Buckner Funeral Home, 230 North Second Avenue, Siler City. The funeral will be Monday, June 26, 2017 at 2:00 PM at Moon's Chapel Baptist Church, 175 Moon's Chapel Road, Siler City with Rev. Patrick Fuller officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
