Louise Ivey Womble, 100, of Siler City died Wednesday, April 13, 2016 at Coventry House.
Mrs. Womble was born in Chatham County on October 2, 1915 the daughter of William Preston and Minnie (Sizemore) Ivey. Louise was the oldest member of First Baptist Church of Siler City, a charter member of the Dig 'N Dream Garden Club and had been employed by A. J. Schneierson & Sons. She enjoyed cooking and all crafts, especially making Christmas ornaments which she shared with family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd Robert Womble; son-in-law, John Henry Tripp; her parents; brother, William Harold Ivey and his wife, Louise and a sister, Christeen Ivey Norman and husband, Clark, Mary Frances Ivey Smith and husband, Herbert.
Louise is survived by one daughter: Jane Womble Tripp of Siler City; one son: Robert Ivey Womble and wife, Lisa of Sheridan, WY ; grandson, Todd Womble of Ramseur; sisters-in-law, Irma Womble Beal and Nadine Womble Short of Siler City; brother-in-law, Lynton C. Womble of Siler City and Joan Ivey Tillman of Siler City.
The family will receive friends Sunday, April 17, 2016 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at First Baptist Church, 314 N. 2nd Ave., Siler City and other times at the family home. The funeral will be Sunday, April 17, 2016 at 2:00 PM at First Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Loves Creek Baptist Cemetery.
