Lonnie Gene Moody

Lonnie Gene Moody, 63, of Randolph County, passed away Tuesday, February 18th, 2025, surrounded by family.

Lonnie was born October 21st, 1961, in Chatham County to the late Sam M. Moody, Sr. and Mary Ruth Poe Moody. He is preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, Sam Moody, Jr., Paul Moody, Toby Moody, and Wayne Moody.

Lonnie was of Baptist faith and was affiliated with Chatham Trades. Left to cherish his memory is his brothers, Teddy G. Moody and his wife, Judy of Lincolnton; Terry Moody and his wife, Angie of Goldston, and his twin brother, Donnie Moody of Siler City; and his sister, Brenda M. Griffin and her husband, William “Bill” of Tramway; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Monday, February 24th, 2025, at 12 noon, at Smith & Buckner Chapel. A visitation will be held Sunday, February 23rd, 2024, from 2-4 pm at Smith & Buckner Chapel. Burial will follow the service at Sandy Branch Baptist Church Cemetery.
