Lonnie Carroll Burke

Lonnie "Carroll" Burke, 79, of Siler City passed away on Wednesday, June 23, 2021. Mr. Burke was born in Chatham County on October 3, 1941 the son of Lonnie Charlie and Nellie Turner Burke. He loved being and working outside. After 38 years, he retired from his job as surveyor with the NC Department of Transportation. In his free time and especially after retirement, he enjoyed farming and raising cows. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Nancy Beane Burke; son, Jonathan Burke of Raleigh; brother, J. Michael Burke of Sanford; niece, LaRue B. Wilson and husband Jesse; and great niece and nephew, Kaleigh and Jordan. Carroll is preceded in death by his parents. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, June 27, 2021 at Hickory Mountain Baptist Cemetery, 1094 Mt. Vernon-Hickory Mountain Road, Siler City.
