Lois Harrington Cole, 98, of Siler City died Monday, October 17, 2016 at Coventry House of Siler City.
Mrs. Cole was born in Harnett County on May 13, 1918 to John Vann and Ila (Womble) Harrington. Lois was a member of Loves Creek Baptist Church, the Womens' Missionary Society, and the Mae Dorsett Sunday School Class, and also known for her beautiful flower garden. After retiring from Belk Yates, Lois became a volunteer with the Chatham Hospital Auxiliary and Sun Bridge Nursing Home.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Herman Cole; her only son, Don Cole; her parents; three brothers and three sisters.
Lois is survived by one sister: Rebecca H. Terry of Washington, NC; one brother, Bill Harrington of Garner, NC; daughter-in-law, Marilyn Cole of Siler City; granddaughters, Debra and husband, Sam Lee of Encinitas, CA, Karen and husband, Jeff Federman of Durham, NC; great-grandchildren, Jackson and Kaitlin Federman.
The family will receive friends Saturday, October 22, 2016 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Smith & Buckner Funeral Home, Siler City, NC. The funeral will be Sunday, October 23, 2016 at 2:00 PM at Loves Creek Baptist Church, 1745 East 11th Street, Siler City with Rev. Bob Wachs officiating. Burial will follow in the church Cemetery.
