Linda Kay Branson Vermette, 76, of Braxton Manor, Siler City died Monday, April 4, 2016 at her residence.
Mrs. Vermette was born in Randolph County on December 28, 1939 the daughter of Armpstead and Lura Kay (Trogdon) Branson. Linda was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church, retired from Acme McCrary and had worked locally as a cook. Linda enjoyed times spent with her family, especially her grandchildren. She also enjoyed sharing her talents of cooking for others, quilting and other crafts.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Douglas Branson.
She is survived by one son: Ray Stout and wife, Lisa of Siler City; three daughters: Lisa Hart and wife, Nancy of Greensboro, Patti S. Thomas of Siler City, Susan Sessoms and husband, Jeff of Siler City; two sisters: Phyllis Petty and husband, Bill of Randleman, Janice Kennedy and husband, John of Asheboro; grandchildren, Jake and Justin Sessoms, Travis Thomas, Arielle and Nolan Stout
The family will receive friends Wednesday, April 6, 2016 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Smith & Buckner Funeral Home, 230 North Second Avenue, Siler City and at other times at the home of the daughter, Susan Sessoms, 1146 Petty Road Siler City. The funeral will be Thursday, April 7, 2016 at 2:00 PM at Cornerstone Baptist Church, 396 NC Hwy 42, Goldston with Rev. Peggy Stout and Rev. Mike Garner officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
