Lila Jewel Johnson Lineberry (Maw Maw) of Terapin Slide Road, Staley died, November 10, 2015 at Montgomery Village Victoian Senior Living Center in Star.
Mrs. Lineberry (81 years old) was the daughter of Emery Jewel and Lila Cook Johnson of Siler City and a lifelong resident of Chatham County. She retired from the original Siler City Cato's after several years of service as both a clerk and store manager. She was a member of Liberty Friendly Wesleyan Church. She is preceded in death by her husband, Alfred Franklin; her parents; sisters, Frances Burgett and Mildred Lineberry; brother, Clay Van Johnson; and granddaughter, Jennifer Davis.
She is survived by one brother, Larry Joe "Dobie" Johnson of Staley; daughter, Rosita Davis and husband, Ronnie of Staley; sons, Alfred Carl Lineberry and wife, Paula of Seagrove; John Steven Lineberry and wife, LaDonna of Staley; nine grandchildren; twenty-five great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchild.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of Montgomery Village and Hospice of Randolph County for their love and care of Maw Maw.
The family will receive friends Friday, November 13, 2015 from 12:00 – 2:00 PM at Smith & Buckner Funeral Home, 230 North Second Avenue, Siler City, NC 27344. The funeral will be Friday, November 13, 2015 at 2:00 PM in the Smith & Buckner Funeral Home Chapel with Pastors Evon Pulliam and Danny Thomas officiating. Burial will follow in the Rocky River Friends Meeting Cemetery, 1795 Staley-Snow camp Road, Siler.
