Lester "Curly" Owen Trogdon, 69, of Siler City died Thursday, November 20, 2014 at his residence.
Mr. Trogdon was born in Chatham County on January 26, 1945 the son of Luva and Fleta (Perry) Trogdon. Curly was a member of Edward Hill Friends Meeting and the owner/ operator of Trogdon Heating and Air for 43 years. He was a veteran of the Air Force, serving for four years during Vietnam. Curly was a board member of the Siler City Moose Lodge, former member of the Siler City Jaycees, an avid Washington Redskins fan and enjoyed playing a round of golf. He will be remembered by children of all ages for his time spent coaching Pop Warner football and little league baseball. Curly was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years: Georgia (Elder) Trogdon; daughters: Jenna T. Davis and husband, Robbie of Siler City, NC, Tiffany T. Johnson and husband, John of Siler City; son: Richard Trogdon of Pittsboro; grandchildren, Luke and Ben Johnson and Annastyn Trogdon; sisters: Barbara T. Rachel and husband, Jesse of Siler City, NC, Janie Trogdon of Pittsboro, NC; brother: Kenneth L. Trogdon of Chapel Hill, NC.
The family will receive friends Friday, November 21, 2014 from 6:00-8:00 PM at Smith & Buckner Funeral Home, 230 North Second Avenue, Siler City, NC. The funeral will be Saturday, November 22, 2014 at 11:00 AM at Edward Hill Friends Meeting, 92 Ed Leonard Road, Siler City with Josh Conrad and Rev. Mark Richardson officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with military rites by the Randolph County Honor Guard.
