Leota Budd Thompson

Leota Budd Thompson of Siler City died Sunday, August 23, 2015 at Coventry House of Siler City. Mrs. Thompson was born in Chatham County on August 20, 1924 the daughter of Grover L. and Ida Johnson Budd. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Siler City, the Rachel Allred Sunday School Class and the Joy In The Morning Group. Leota spent her working years employed in the office of A. J. Schneierson, Southern States and Johnson Cotton Company. She enjoyed painting and traveling. Leota was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Thompson; her parents; brothers, Kenneth Budd and Curt Budd; sister, Della Margaret Budd. She is survived by special niece, Nancy Moon Murchison of Liberty, NC; niece, Rosemary Lentz of Burlington, NC; nephew, Kenny Budd of Siler City, NC; sisters-in-law, Jane Budd of Liberty, NC and Margaret Budd of Burlington, NC. A graveside service will be held Wednesday, August 26, 2015 at 11:00 AM at Chatham Memorial Park, 13260 Hwy 64 West, Siler City with Rev. Tony Capehart officiating. The family will receive friends Wednesday, August 26, 2015 following the graveside service at Chatham Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church, 314 N. 2nd Ave., Siler City, NC 27344. Smith & Buckner Funeral Home is assisting the family.
