Leonard Lee Koch, 59, of Ruby Lane, Siler City died Monday, November 14, 2016 at his residence.
Mr. Koch was born in Alleghany County, Pennsylvania on September 11, 1957 the son of Charles Emil Koch, Sr. and Patricia Ann (Klein) Koch. Leonard was a CNC engineer who machined custom cabinets, signs and other displays. He enjoyed building and flying radio control planes, helicopters, NHRA drag racing. He was a member of AMA (Academy of Model Aeronautics). Leonard enjoyed constructing Christmas light scenes and adding music. He loved his dogs Dopey, Roscoe and Coco.
Leonard was preceded in death by his mother.
He is survived by his wife: Sheila (Basham) Koch;one son: Christopher Michael Koch of Siler City; one daughter: Brandy Leigh Swaney of Randleman; father, Charles Emil Koch, Sr. of Siler City; one sister: Adrian K. Steele of North Braddock, PA; two brothers: Charles E. "Chuckie" Koch, Jr.; and wife, Kathy of Chesterland, OH, Ronald Koch and wife, Aimee of Harrison City, PA; grandchildren, Amber, Lauren, and Damean Swaney and Thomas Whitaker; several nieces and nephews and special friends, Ray and Virginia Johnson.
The family will receive friends Friday, November 18, 2016 from 6:00-9:00 pm at Smith & Buckner Funeral Home, 230 North Second Avenue, Siler City, NC. The funeral will be Saturday, November 19, 2016 at 11:00 AM at Smith & Buckner Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Carl Belcher officiating. Burial will follow in Chatham Memorial Park, Siler City.
