Leona McIntyre Stone, 86, of Bish Road, Staley died Wednesday, April 16, 2014 at her residence.
Mrs. Stone was born in Cumberland County on May 11, 1927 the daughter of Haywood S. and Sallie (Smith) McIntyre. She was a member of Moon's Chapel Baptist Church and had worked as a waitress at Teague's Café. Leona enjoyed working in her flower garden, going to the beach and spending time with her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ray Stone; her parents; granddaughter, Westa Boling; sister, Doris McIntyre and brother, Samuel McIntyre.
She is survived by one daughter: Juanita Boling Wilson and husband, Gale Phillips Wilson of Staley, NC; son: Dwight Julian Boling of Burlington, NC; three sisters: Peggy McIntyre, Mary Lou Jackson, Judy McIntyre; one brother, Frankie McIntyre all of Fayetteville; grandchildren, Gale Wilson, Jr., Chad Wilson and Shannon Boling; great-grandchildren, Brooke Wilson, Aubree Wilson, Megan Wilson, Ashlyn Wilson, Halen Wilson, Logan and Nickolas Boling.
The family will receive friends Friday, April 18, 2014 from 10:00 - 11:00 AM at Moon's Chapel Baptist Church, 175 Moon's Chapel Road, Siler City, NC. The funeral will follow Friday at 11:00 AM at Moon's Chapel Baptist Church with Rev. Scott Faw officiating. Burial will be in Chatham Memorial Park, Siler City.
