Larry Ray Morris, 67, of Bonlee-Bennett Road, Siler City died Friday, August 5, 2016 at Chatham Hospital, Inc.
Larry was born on October 18, 1948 in Alamance County, the son of Robert and Jewel Glass Morris. Larry was formerly employed with Gulf Oil and Tire Company, Bradshaw Supply Company, Bonlee Poultry and Jerry Harris Auction. He was a retired poultry farmer. Larry was a member of Providence Independent Methodist Church, served on the church ground committee, the Pastor-Parrish committee and cemetery committee. He enjoyed rabbit hunting, fishing, riding his golf cart, looking after his goats and watching old western movies. His greatest love was his family.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years; Jeanette Wilkie Morris of the home, sons: Larry Kevin Morris and wife, Rachel Ann of Bennett, Brian Richard Morris and wife, Tammy of Robbins and Charlie Ray Morris and wife, Isabel of Siler City, sisters: Marilyn Price and husband, Tommy of Siler City and Barbara Welborn of Seagrove and brother: Danny Morris and wife, Vickie of Liberty, grandchildren, Chris, William, Gracie and Liz; great grandchildren, Brayden, Tony and Valeria.
The family will receive friends Sunday, August 7, 2016 from 6 - 8 PM at Smith & Buckner Funeral Home, 230 North Second Avenue, Siler City, other times at the family home. The funeral will be 2:00 PM Monday August 8, 2016 at Providence Independence Methodist Church, 905 Providence Church Road, Siler City with Rev. Brian Caldwell and Josh Conrad officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
