Kenneth Moore, 90, of Siler City died Monday, May 8, 2017 at UNC Hospitals. Mr. Moore was born in Chatham County on June 6, 1926 the son of Clyde and Corinna (Dowd) Moore. Kenneth was a member of Sandy Branch Baptist Church and a member of the Ixthus Sunday School Class. He served in the Navy during World War II. Kenneth retired from Charles Craft as a fixer. He enjoyed gardening and square dancing, in his earlier years. Kenneth was preceded in death by his wife, Audrey Greene Moore; his parents; sister, Lois Andrews.
He is survived by three daughters: Dianne Stockwell and husband, David of Randleman, Vickie Lester and husband, Eddie of Ramseur and Becky Gooch and husband, Tim of Denton; two sons: Michael Moore and Darrell Moore both of Siler City; one brother: William Moore of Castle Hayne, NC; sixteen grandchildren and twenty-one great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, May 10, 2017 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Smith & Buckner Funeral Home, 230 North Second Avenue, Siler City, NC and other times at the family home. A graveside service will be held Thursday, May 11, 2017 at 2:00 PM at Sandy Branch Baptist Church, 715 Sandy Branch Church Road, Bear Creek with Rev. Marc Sanders officiating.
