June Tillman

June Tillman, 88, of Siler City died Wednesday, July 5, 2017 at Siler City Center.

Mr. Tillman was born in Chatham County on June 3, 1929 the son of Luther Tillman and Ollie Phillips Tillman Hancock. June was a member of West End United Methodist Church where he was a member of the Adult Men's Sunday School Class, usher, member of the board and served on numerous committees. June was a veteran of the US Marine Corps and retired from the NCDOT where he was a road maintenance supervisor. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, NASCAR and all sporting events.

June was preceded in death by daughter, Kimberly Tillman Fadely; his parents and brothers, Joseph, Charles, Lewis, Bill and Garrett Tillman.

He is survived by his wife of 66 years: Cathren "Chigger" (Adcock) Tillman; daughter: June Carol Tillman Stout and husband, Phillip of Pittsboro; son: Marty Craig Tillman and wife, Angela of Siler City; sister: Joyce Tillman Russavage and husband, Leo of Pennsylvania; brother, Troy Mack Hancock and wife, Ann of Bear Creek; grandchildren,Chris and Patrick Stout Morgan and Jennah Grace Fadely, Lauren (Allie) Tillman, Jason Tillman; son-in-law, Lewis Fadely of Siler City.

The funeral will be Friday, July 7, 2017 at 2:00 PM at West End United Methodist Church, 1104 N. Chatham Ave., Siler City with Rev. Jim Whittaker officiating. Burial will be in Hope Cemetery, Bonlee.
