Juan Plata-Cardona

Juan Plata Cardona, 74, of Siler City, passed away surrounded by his loved ones at his home.

Mr. Plata Cardona was born in Aguascalientes, Mexico on January 7, 1949, the son of Ernesto Plata and Antonia Cardona.

He spent his working years as a dairy farmer. Juan loved spending time outside gardening, and watching old western movies. He cherished his animals, cows and horses.

Juan is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Maria Plata; sons, Carlos Plata, Antonio Plata, Noemi Plata, Christopher Hayes, and Alejandro Plata; grandchildren, Juan Plata, Eric Plata, Flor Plata, Carlos Plata, Elizabeth Nava-Plata, Jonathan Nava Plata, Sebastian Nava Plata, Abraham Plata, Marco Antonio Plata, Zamara Plata Fuentes, and Edgar Fuentes; siblings; Rosario Plata, Maria Plata, Beningna Plata, Arturo Plata, Raudel Plata, Endeina Plata, Maria Del Rosario Plata, Guadalupe Plata, Olga Plata; and great grandchildren, Evanny Plata and Gabriella Nava Kast.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 26, 2023 from 10:30-11:30 AM at Smith & Bucker Funeral Home, 230 N. Second Ave., Siler City. The funeral service will be held at 12:00 PM at St. Julia Catholic Parrish, 210 Harold Hart Rd., Siler City, with Friar Luis Palacios officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery, Siler City.

El Sr. Plata Cardona nació en Aguascalientes, México el 7 de enero de 1949, hijo de Ernesto Plata y Antonia Cardona.

Pasó sus años de trabajo como productor lechero. A Juan le encantaba pasar tiempo al aire libre haciendo jardinería y viendo viejas películas del oeste. Amaba a sus animales, vacas y caballos.

A Juan le sobreviven su amada esposa durante 53 años, María Plata; hijos, Carlos Plata, Antonio Plata, Noemí Plata, Christopher Hayes y Alejandro Plata; nietos, Juan Plata, Eric Plata, Flor Plata, Carlos Plata, Elizabeth Nava-Plata, Jonathan Nava Plata, Sebastian Nava Plata, Abraham Plata, Marco Antonio Plata, Zamara Plata Fuentes y Edgar Fuentes; hermanos; Rosario Plata, María Plata, Beningna Plata, Arturo Plata, Raudel Plata, Endeina Plata, María Del Rosario Plata, Guadalupe Plata, Olga Plata; y bisnietos, Evanny Plata y Gabriella Nava Kast.

La familia recibirá a los amigos el jueves 26 de enero de 2023 de 10:30 a. m. a 11:30 a. m. en Smith & Bucker Funeral Home, 230 N. Second Ave., Siler City. El funeral se llevará a cabo a las 12:00 PM en la Parroquia Católica St. Julia, 210 Harold Hart Rd., Siler City, oficiando Fray Luis Palacios. El entierro seguirá en el cementerio de Oakwood, Siler City.
