Joyce Vaughn Beal

Joyce Vaughn Beal, 71, of Beal Road, Goldston died Thursday, August 22, 2013 at Central Carolina Hospital, Sanford. Mrs. Beal was born in Chatham County on March 15, 1942 the daughter of John and Josie (Gaines) Vaughn. She had been employed as an inspector at Mastercraft. Joyce was a member of Antioch Baptist Church and enjoyed reading her Bible, going out to eat with the senior citizens group from church. She also enjoyed sewing. Joyce was preceded in death by her husband, Reid O. Beal; daughter, Tammy Beal Buie; father, John Robert Vaughn; brother, John Wayne "Weasel" Vaughn; sister, Ada Jean Jones. She is survived by two sons: Randy Beal, Marty Beal both of Goldston, NC; mother, Josie (Gaines) Vaughn of Goldston; grandchildren, Allison Buie Strohacker, Brittany Anne Beal, Brandon Dean Beal; son-in-law, Allen Buie of Vass, NC; great-granddaughter, Serene Elizabeth Womble. The family will receive friends Saturday, August 24, 2013 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Smith & Buckner Funeral Home, 230 North Second Avenue, Siler City, NC and other times at the family home. The funeral will be Sunday, August 25, 2013 at 2:00 PM at Antioch Baptist Church, 3825 Bonlee-Carbonton Road, Goldston with Rev. Mike Garner and Rev. Bob Griffith officiating.
