Joshua Steven Brewer

Joshua Steven Brewer, 30, of Castle Rock Road, Pittsboro passed away unexpectedly from complications of diabetes and flu Monday, January 20, 2014 at his residence. Mr. Brewer was born in Chatham County on July 9, 1983 the son of Danny Brewer of Goldston and Starla (Moody) Ferrell and husband, Michael Bullard of Sanford. He was a graduate of Central Carolina Community College, attended culinary art school in Kentucky for two years and was currently a student at ITT Tech in Cary, majoring in computer science. Josh had worked as a cook for Laurels of Chatham and Siler City Rehab. He was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and cooking for them. His hobbies were listening to music and photography. Josh was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Glen Steven and Marie Beal Brewer and a maternal grandfather, Samuel Matthew Moody, Jr.; maternal great-grandparents, Clair B. and Ruby A. Rives, Samuel M. and Mary P. Moody. He is survived by his parents, Danny Brewer, Starla Anne Ferrell, step-father, Michael Scott Bullard;; sisters: Leslie Brewer Maness and husband, Jacob, Jessica Renae' Farrell both of Sanford, NC; brothers: Zachary Brewer and wife, Rachel of Bear Creek, NC, Sam Bullard of Sanford, NC; maternal grandparents, Steve and Patricia R. Cantrell of Dunlap, TN. ; nieces, Taylor Brewer, Emma and Molly Maness; several aunts, uncles, cousins and other family members. The family will receive friends Thursday, January 23, 2014 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Smith & Buckner Funeral Home, 230 North Second Avenue, Siler City, NC and at other times at the home of Zach Brewer, 5954 Bonlee-Bennett Road,. Bear Creek. The funeral will be Friday, January 24, 2014 at 2:00 PM at Antioch Baptist Church, 3825 Bonlee-Carbonton Road, Goldston with Rev. Scott Walker officiating.
