Joshua "Josh" Mequaine Woods

Joshua "Josh" Mequaine Woods, 24, of Siler City died Tuesday, January 12, 2016 Mr. Woods was born in Chatham County on August 4, 1991 the son of Henry Currie and Jackie Woods. Josh was a 2009 graduate of Jordan Matthews High and received an associate's degree from Louisburg College. He was a member of First Missionary Baptist Church where he served as an usher and was active in all aspects of the church. He was a member of the Siler City Fire Department, an EMT and employed with Sir Pizza. He enjoyed his work in serving his community and hunting. He is survived by his wife: Chelsea (Johnson) Woods; sons, Elijah, Ian and another son due in April; father, Henry Currie of Siler City; mother, Jackie Woods of Siler City; two sisters: Chastity Woods of Raleigh, NC, Victoria Woods of Siler City, NC; two brothers: Henry Woods of Raleigh, NC, Donovan Woods of Siler City, NC; maternal grandmother, Peggy Woods of Siler City, NC The family will receive friends Friday, January 15, 2016 from 5:00 – 9:00 at First Missionary Baptist Church, 914 Martin Luther King Blvd, Siler City. The funeral will be Saturday, January 16, 2016 at 1:00 PM at First Missionary Baptist Church, Siler City with Rev. Barry Gray and Rev. Jerry Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery, Siler City. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Fidelity Bank, 1426 E. 11th Street, Siler City, NC 27344 to The Woods Widow and Children Fund or to the First Missionary Baptist Church Junior Choir.
