Josephine Louise Fields

Josephine Louise Fields, 80, of Sam Fields Road, Siler City died Tuesday, March 26, 2013 at Siler City Care & Rehabilitation. Ms. Fields was born in Chatham County on February 15, 1933 the daughter of Sam John and Lillie (Braswell) Fields. She had been a secretary at Chatham Novelties, Siler City, NC and had worked at Bill's Good Food. Josephine was of the Christian faith and was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Maggie Fields, Doris Groce and a special friend, Billy Dixon. She is survived by: nephews, Sam Groce and wife, Julie, Doug Groce; niece, Janet Groce; great-niece, Kaylyn Groce all of Siler City. The family will receive friends Friday, March 29, 2013 at the home of Sam Groce, 620 Sam Fields Road, Siler City from 6:00 - 8:00 PM and other times at the home of Janet Groce, 884 Sam Fields Road. There will be a graveside memorial service on Saturday, March 30, 2013 at 11:00 AM at Chatham Memorial Park, 13260 Hwy 64 West, Siler City with Rev. Darrell Bordeaux officiating. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Chatham Child Development Center, 221 Chatham Square, Siler City, NC 27344. Smith & Buckner Funeral Home is assisting the family.
