Joseph Norman Cowette

d. October 29, 2015

Joseph N. Cowette was born in Fairfield, ME on November 17th 1951. H is survived by a wife; Susan Z. Cowette, and two daughters; Amy Tallent and husband, Kevin of Morganton, NC and Holly Rickman and husband, David of Siler City, NC and one daughter in heaven, Rachel Cowette. He often boasted about his 9 grandchildren; Michelle Raymond, Jay Raymond, Jeremy Raymond, Kaitlyn Tallent, Reid Rickman, Adelia Rickman, Jocelyn Rickman, Sophie Rickman, and Weston Rickman, whom he loved deeply, and who reside in both Morganton and Siler City. He also has 3 surviving siblings, a younger brother and two younger sisters who reside in state of his birth, Maine. He was a father, friend, man who loved farming, and everyone's brother in Christ. He was a simple man that worked very hard his whole life. He was a deacon at two churches he attended one locally in Siler City and another in Morganton, N. C. He had awards and accolades but his great accomplishment he would say, was marry his wife Susan Cowette, and accepting Jesus Christ, as his Lord and Savior. Although his obituary is the easiest to write because it isn't prone to embellishments, it's easy to say he'll be known best by others as the man that really 'loved thy neighbor'. He never met a stranger, and if he did they did not remain that way long. He would have brought you dinner, one of his wife's home cooked desserts, bushhogged your field, mowed your grass, visited with you, and spoke about the Lord with you. He didn't draw lines between those of his genetic lineage and others. He did not care if you attended his church, another, or, one at all. He was a true servant of the Lord, and will be greatly missed. We have peace that he has already reaped many riches in heaven. He would have had said not to cry for him, but remember him with smiles. To learn to know your Lord and Savior to ever have a true peace, joy, everlasting life. Also to LOVE others with all you mind, body, and soul. He requested that instead of flowers all donations be made to either the, Salvation Army, P O Box 752, Pittsboro, NC 27312 or to Project Proud Families, Inc., 225 Still Waters Drive, Siler City, NC 27344, Memorials may be made to Salvation Army, P O Box 752, Pittsboro, NC 27312 or Project Proud Families, Inc., (Chatham County NP that helps Special Needs Children and their Families).
