Johnthan Edward "Buck" Johnson, 82, of Siler City died Thursday, March 9, 2017 at Siler City Center.
Mr. Johnson was born in Chatham County on August 6, 1934 the son of David Archie and Allie Burke Johnson. Buck was a member of Brookdale Baptist Church where he helped cook for all church activities with a meal. He had worked at Boling Chair in the assembly department and enjoyed fishing and hunting.
He is survived by his wife of 24 years: Marie (Jones) Johnson; one son: Dennis Johnson and wife, Denise of Asheboro; step-daughters, Chrissy Riddle of Siler City, Kathy M. Jones and husband, Bob of Summerville, SC; six sisters: Magaline J. Allred of Asheboro, Shirley J. Thompson of Yorba Linda, California, Ruth J. Smith of Siler City, Linda J. Welch of Siler City, Judy J. Luther of Asheboro and Toni J. Coore of Mt. Vernon Springs; three brothers: Archie Junior Johnson of Franklinville, Johnny Johnson of Siler City, and Keith Johnson of Snow Camp; a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren, whom he dearly loved.
The family will receive friends Saturday, March 11, 2017 from 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM at Brookdale Baptist Church, 1133 West Third Street, Siler City. The funeral will follow Saturday at 11:00 AM at Brookdale Baptist Church with Rev. Rob Roberts and Keith Johnson officiating.
Burial will be in Chatham Memorial Park, Siler City.
