Johnnie Clinton Scott, 89, of Siler City died Tuesday, January 1, 2013 at the home of his daughter.
Mr. Scott was born in Chatham County on November 28, 1923 the son of Johnnie Herbert and Annie (Cox) Scott.
He was retired from Gold Kist after 22 years of service. Clinton was a member of Siler City Chapel and was an Army veteran of WW II. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mollie Gaines Scott, brothers, Billy, Clarence and Ernest Scott and a sister, Tessie Dinkins.
He is survived by one daughter: Janie Scott Riggsbee and husband, Mark of Siler City, NC, one son: Mark Scott and wife, Janet of Bennett, NC; two brothers: Lester Scott and Russell Scott both of Bear Creek, NC; grandchildren, Brad and Abby Howard of Bonlee, NC, Wendy Johnson, Siler City, Dana Scott of Bonlee and Tina Harrelson of Bennett; two great grandchildren, Ashton Rollins and Aidan Johnson.
The family will receive friends Thursday, January 3, 2013 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Smith & Buckner Funeral Home, 230 North Second Avenue, Siler City, NC. Other times the family will be at the home of the daughter, 223 Edwards Hill Road, Siler City. The funeral will be Friday, January 4, 2013 at 2:00 PM at the Siler City Chapel, 166 South Third Ave., Siler City with Dr. Tommy Steele and Rev. Darrell Williams officiating.
Burial will follow in Chatham Memorial Park with military rites by the Randolph County Honor Guard.
