John Willard Smith

John Willard Smith, 85, of, Siler City died Thursday, August 30, 2012 at Hospice at the Meadowlands, Hillsborough. Mr. Smith was born June 15, 1927 the son of Willie Mark and Gertrude (Johnson) Smith. He retired from Boling Chair as a supervisor. Willard was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Terry Smith. He is survived by two daughters: Karen Smith Hodge and husband, Jackie of Kernersville, NC, Cindy Smith Reid and husband, David of Bear Creek, NC; two sisters: Betty S. Brooks of Siler City, NC, Hilda S. Deaton of Durham, NC and a special niece, Denise Love Scott of Siler City, NC. The funeral will be Sunday, September 2, 2012 at 2:00 PM at Mount Vernon United Methodist Church, 3631 Mt. Vernon-Hickory Mountain Road, Siler City with Rev. Jason Dickerson and Rev. Brian Wellborn officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the church.
