John Robert Robert Staley

John Robert Staley, 75, of Wildlife Road, Bear Creek died Wednesday, July 1, 2015 at his residence. Mr. Staley was born in Randolph County on June 8, 1940 the son of John William and Mary Etta (Kime) Staley. He retired from Mastec in 2001, and worked with Central Cable Company until his health began to decline. Robert was a member of Piney Grove United Methodist Church. Robert was preceded in death by his father; sister, Rachel Cook and a granddaughter, Bridget Ellis Cockman. He is survived by his wife of 58 years: Jane (Dark) Staley; one daughter: Bonnie Staley Ellis and husband, Billy Lewis "BL" of Bear Creek, NC; one son: Robert Elliott "L. " Staley of Bear Creek, NC; mother, Mary Etta (Kime) Staley; two brothers: James Staley and wife, Doris, Walter Staley and wife, Kristy both of Seagrove, NC; granddaughter, Marsha Ellis Torres and husband, Tony of Southern Pines, NC; great-grandchildren, Lilly and Lea Torres; step-grandchild, Billy Joe Ellis and wife, Cindy of Staley, NC; and two step-great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends Sunday, July 5, 2015 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Smith & Buckner Funeral Home, 230 North Second Avenue, Siler City, NC. The funeral will be Monday, July 6, 2015 at 2:00 PM at Piney Grove United Methodist Church, 2343 Piney Grove Church Road, Siler City with Rev. Jim Folks officiating.
