John Russell Moore

John Russell Moore, 48, of Goldston, passed away on Thursday, March 23, 2023.

Mr. Moore was born in Lee County on June 11, 1974, the son of Spurgeon Moore Jr., and Janice Wilkie Moore.

John was a member of Bethany Baptist Church. He was a tender hearted man, and could get along with anyone. He enjoyed fishing and hunting. John was a big history buff and loved hunting for arrowheads with Jordyn. He liked Toyota trucks and getting out four wheeling. John is preceded in death by his father, Junior Moore; brother, Brian Moore; maternal grandfather, John Wilkie, Jr.; and paternal grandparents, Spurgeon Moore, Sr. and Janie Clark Moore.

He is survived by his children, Jordyn Jessup and husband Clay of Coleridge, Alex Moore of Goldston, and Bella Rose Moore of Harpers Crossroads; mother, Janice Moore; wife, Jessica Wilkie Moore; maternal grandmother, Betty Wilkie of Amarillo, TX; niece, Danielle Sanchez and husband Javier; nephew, Brian Kent Moore; and great nieces, Kenleigh and Mireyah Sanchez.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, March 26, 2023 from 6:00-8:00 PM at Smith & Buckner Funeral Home, 230 N. Second Ave., Siler City. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, March 27, 2023 at Bethany Baptist Church Cemetery, 503 Alton King Rd., Goldston, NC 27252, with Rev. Patrick Daniels officiating.
