John Lloyd Routh, 87, of Bear Creek, died September 25, 2015 at Hospice House of Randolph County after several years of declining health.
He was the last member of the Routh family of Bonlee. His parents were CC and Elizabeth Routh, Sr.; brothers were CC Jr. and Glenn; sisters were Blanche Nall and Jessie Phillips. John was of the Methodist faith, a dairy and cattle farmer and a former co-owner of CC Routh Mills. He loved his cows, going to the lake, watching NASCAR and cowboy movies.
He is survived by his wife, Martha White Routh of the home; only daughter, Susan Routh Pickeral of Bear Creek; grandson, Johnny Cox and wife, Lisa with great-granddaughters, Ashley and Amanda Cox of Bear Creek; granddaughter, Beverly Goss and husband, Gary with great-grandson, Gary (Buddy) Goss and great-granddaughters, Lindsey and Tiffany Goss of Asheboro.
A graveside service will be held Sunday, September 27, 2015 at 3:00 PM at Hope Cemetery, Bonlee, NC. The family will receive friends at the family home on Saturday afternoon from
2:00 – 6:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Hospice House of Randolph County.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the nurses and the staff of the Hospice House for their love and care extended to John.
