John Allen Honbarger

John Allen Honbarger 91, of Siler City passed away Thursday, March 3, 2016 at Siler City Center , Siler City. Mr. Honbarger was a native of Rowan County and was born April 21, 1924 the son of Lonnie H. and Louise Julian Honbarger. John was a 1942 graduate of Siler City High School. He worked for Siler City Pharmacy and Family Pharmacy. He was a member of Oakley Baptist Church and was a deacon. John is preceded in death by his parents, step-mother, Texie Honbarger and brother, William H. Honbarger. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Helen Smith Honbarger, of the home, nieces, Clair Westin and husband, Walt, Frances Burger and husband, Rob both of Richmond Va. nephew, Keith Smith and wife, Sandy of Asheboro, four great nieces and two great nephews. The family will receive friends Sunday, March 6, 2016 from 6:30 to 8:30 PM at Smith & Buckner Funeral Home, 230 North Second Avenue, Siler City, NC. The funeral will be 1:00 PM Monday, March 7, 2016 at Oakley Baptist Church, 2300 Siler City-Glendon Road, Siler City with Rev. Eddie Ellison officiating.
