Joe Hollis Freeman, 69, of Church Street, Goldston died Tuesday, January 22, 2013 at his residence.
Mr. Freeman was born in Barrow County, Georgia on June 8, 1943 the son of Willie (Buster) H. and Lattrell (Polly) (Smith) Freeman. He was a Baptist by faith and a retired machine operator with Tracor Aerospace. After retirement he worked for the Sanford Herald. Joe enjoyed gardening, bowling, fishing, and was a fan of Nascar and UNC sports. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Vanetta F. Johnson.
He is survived by one daughter: Stephanie F. Arnold and husband, Jeff of Max Meadows, VA and three sons: Joe (Joey) H. Freeman, II and wife, Tara of Fayetteville, NC, William "Will" Freeman and wife, Jodie of Buies Creek, NC, Brian Freeman and wife, Ashley of Mays Landing NJ; one sister: Vickie F. Millenbaugh and husband, Don of Goldston, NC; one brother: Barry Eugene Freeman and fiancee', Denise Jackson of Sanford, NC; nine grandchildren; and one step-great- granddaughter.
The family will receive friends Thursday, January 24, 2013 from 6:00-8:00 PM at Smith & Buckner Funeral Home, 230 North Second Avenue, Siler City, NC. The funeral will be Friday, January 25, 2013 at 11:00 AM at Smith & Buckner Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. David Hicks officiating. Burial will follow in Chatham Memorial Park, Siler City.
