JoAnn Lever Butler, 80, of Campbell Road, Bear Creek went to her heavenly home Tuesday, May 17, 2016.
Mrs. Butler was born in Columbia, South Carolina on September 4, 1935 the daughter of Marvin W. and Ruth E. Lever and Mable Lever. She was a charter member of Faith Baptist Church and the adult Sunday School Class. She was retired as a receptionist, enjoyed Duke basketball and Braves baseball. Her greatest joy was looking after her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
JoAnn was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond McCoy Butler, Sr.; her parents and a sister, Rosemary Long of High Point.
She is survived by one son: Raymond "Skip" McCoy Butler, Jr. and wife, Aune of Jacksonville, FL, three daughters: Lisa B. Johnson of Bear Creek, Jan B. Phillips and husband, Richard of Bear Creek, and Kimberly B. Warren and husband, Joseph of Burlington; grandchildren, Brandon Butler and wife, Meridith, Jeremy Diven, Megan Andrews Moore and husband, Chance, Derek Andrews and fiance', Katelyn, Jason Matthews, Nicholas Bishop; great-grandchildren, Madison and Adalynn Butler, Ava Graham and Isla Cates Moore; sisters, Beverly Campbell of Chamblee, GA and Ann Senn of Pelion, SC,
The service will be held Friday, May 20, 2016 at 11:00 AM in the Smith & Buckner Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Bobby Shutt officiating. The family will be at the home of Jan Phillips, 1991 Campbell Road, Bear Creek.
