Jimmy Michael Woody, I

Jimmy Michael Woody I, 66 of Goldston, NC went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Sunday, May 27, 2018 after a courageous battle with cancer.

He was born in Chatham County, NC on May 5, 1952 to the late Walter Woody and Margaret Atkins Woody. In addition to his parents, he was proceeded in death by siblings Catherine Woody, Estelle Woody Fields, Ervin Woody and Billy Woody. Jimmy was a member of Antioch Baptist Church. He was a Volunteer Fire Fighter for Goldston Volunteer Fire Department for 30 years. He was an avid Tar Heel fan, enjoyed joining the "Coffee Group" and spending time with his family.

He is survived by his daughters, April Woody of Broadway, NC and Jamie Armstrong of Goldston, NC ; son, Mike Woody of Goldston, NC; brothers, Elmer Woody (Lib) and JB Woody of Sanford, NC, Wayne Woody and Donald Woody (Molly) of Goldston, NC and Larry Woody (Ann) of Louisburg, NC; grandchildren, Austin, Abbey, David, Chance, Juan, Haley and Riley.

The Family will receive friends and family Wednesday, May 30, 2018 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Smith and Buckner Funeral Home and other times at the home of April Woody. The funeral service will be Thursday, May 31st at 2 pm at Antioch Baptist Church with Preacher Mike Garner officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
