Jim Walters Stone, Sr.

Jim Walters Stone, Sr., 89, of Siler City died Tuesday, August 14, 2018. Mr. Stone was born in Chatham County on August 17, 1928 the son of Henry Jackson and LaVerna (Walters) Stone. Jim was an Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict, and a member of Loves Creek Baptist Church. Jim owned J. W. Stone Clothing Store for 38 years in downtown Siler City. Jim was preceded in death by his son, Jim "Jimmy" Stone, Jr.; his parents; sisters, Dot Patat and Betty Leonard; brother, Henry J. Stone, Jr.

He is survived by his wife of 61 Years, Hazel "Pat" Patterson Stone; daughter: Pattie Stone Turner and husband, Steve of Jamestown, NC; one sister: Ann S. Tew of Raleigh, NC; brother: J. Ed Stone and wife, Gloria of Murrells Inlet, SC; grandchildren, Justin and Jared Stone, Hannah, Leah, and Micah Turner.

The family will receive friends Friday, August 17, 2018 from 10:00 - 11:00 AM at Loves Creek Baptist Church, 1745 East 11th Street, Siler City, NC. The funeral will follow Friday at 11:00 AM at Loves Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Kenny Black officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
