Jerry Ross Stevens, 71, of Siler City died Friday, January 1, 2016 at Randolph Hospice House, Asheboro. Mr. Stevens was born June 26, 1944, the son of Roland Lee and Esbie Elizabeth Scotton Stevens.
Jerry was a native of Chatham County. He was employed by Cone Mills as a truck driver. His favorite thing to do was cooking Barbeque for area fund raising.
He is survived by his wife: Bonita Hill Stevens of the home, daughters: Tammy Stevens Mabe of Siler City, Jennifer Stevens Tyson of Carthage, brother; Cletus A. Stevens and wife, Linda of Siler City, step-daughters, Shavonne Blakley of Denton, Michelle Hill Meyers of Welcome, grandchildren, Dustin Mabe and fiancee Amy, Houston Powers, Andrew, Jacob, Curt, and Hope Olgesbee, great grandchild Dove Olgesbee.
The visitation will be on Monday, January 4, 2016 from 2 until 3 PM in the Plainfield Friends Meeting Church, 1956 Plainfield Church Road, Siler City. The funeral service will follow at 3:00 PM, with Ken Spivey officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
