Jerry Ray Brown

Jerry Ray Brown, 53, of Ramseur died at his residence. Mr. Brown was born in Chatham County on May 31, 1959 the son of Fields Freeman and Betty Ann (Beal) Brown. He was a 1978 graduate of Chatham Central High School and had been employed at Ramtex in the supply room. Jerry never met a stranger. He was an avid NASCAR fan, enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his granddaughters. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Don (Magic) Brown. He is survived by one son: Kenneth R. Brown and wife, Heather of Cedar Falls, NC; two sisters: Joan B. Cockman and husband, Mike of Franklinville, NC, Doan B. Clark and husband, Vernon of Siler City, NC; twin brother, Terry Brown and wife, Annette of Franklinville, NC; brother, Todd Brown and wife, Amy of Bear Creek, NC; granddaughters, Raylyn, Aurora and Temperance and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Thursday, January 31, 2013 from 6:00-8:00 PM at Smith & Buckner Funeral Home, 230 North Second Avenue, Siler City, NC and other times at the home of Doan and Vernon Clark, 1002 Parkwood Drive, Siler City. A memorial service will be held Friday, February 1, 2013 at 11:00 AM at Smith & Buckner Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Edward Brown officiating.
