Jeanette "Jenny" Brooks Powers

Jeanette "Jenny" Brooks Powers 70, of Burlington died Tuesday, June 23, 2015 at the home of her daughter in Wilmington, NC. Ms. Powers was born in Chatham County on August 8, 1944 the daughter of Charlie Brooks, Sr. and Jessie Branch Brooks. Jenny was a bookkeeper and of the Baptist faith. She enjoyed fishing, square dancing, reading and spending time wit her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and sisters, Polly Brooks and Sarah Milligan, and her granddaughters, Sariene and Annie She is survived by one daughter: Dawn Fletcher of Wilmington, NC; one son: Jason Powers and wife, Julie of Liberty, NC; sister: Mary Maldonado of Siler City, NC; one brother: C. L. Brooks of Siler City, NC; grandchildren, Spirit and Miranda Fletcher, Grant and Garvin Powers A private memorial service will be held at Brush Creek Baptist Church Cemetery Smith & Buckner Funeral Home is assisting the family.
