Jeanette Fay Blankenship, 59, of Asheboro, died Tuesday, April 30, 2024 surrounded by her family.
Jeanette was born in Bluefield, West Virginia on February 19, 1965, to Essel Dillon and Rosie Welch Dillon. In addition to her parents, Jeanette was preceded in death by her husband, Troy Blankenship; sisters, Carol and Kathy Dillon; brother, Randall Dillon; and grandchild, Aysia Alston.
Jeanette is survived by her daughter, Rachel Dawn Blankenship; sons, Troy Thomas Blankenship (Ashley) and Dylan Nathaniel Blankenship; sisters, Jewell Gay Blankenship, Barbara Farley, and Dorlynn Rhodes; brother, Elwin Dillon; grandchildren, Alexis Jade Alston, Elijah Nathaniel Alston, Aubrey Lynn Blankenship, Avery Nicole Blankenship, and Bella Grace Blankenship.
Mrs. Blankenship loved the Lord and attended Siler City Pentecostal Holiness Church. She was a 1983 graduate from Matoaka High School. She worked for many years as an accountant. Jeanette loved her family; her grandchildren were her life. She loved to cook, and everyone was always ready to eat when she made her famous chicken and dumplings or meatloaf. Spending time with her family always came first, that’s why she would host movie nights to spend time with them. Jeanette collected angels and water globes. Riding horses and spending time with her pit bull Rosie were some of her fondest times.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, May 2, 2024, at Smith & Buckner Funeral Home, from 5:00 - 7:00 PM. The graveside service will take place on Friday, May 3, 2024, at 1:00 PM, at Chatham Memorial Park. Officiated by Pastor Rick Haug.
