Jean Kathryn Church

d. January 26, 2022

Jean Kathryn Lowe Church “Jeanie”      Our beloved Jeanie  passed away on January 26, 2022. She was born August 17, 1945 in Clarksville Tn., and raised in Jolo, WV. She was a resident of Randolph County NC, for the past 47 years, but never forgot her hillbilly roots, and was very proud of it. She had worked in several trades, and always a hard worker. A lover of life, and all things family. She enjoyed trips, shopping, movies, and the theater. She loved Rock n Roll music, and was a huge Elvis fan. She always attended live theater shows, and rock concerts in support of her grandson, Tristan. Saw James Brown in an airport, and Peter Tork of The Monkees, on one of her adventures! Went to Elvis, and Elton John concerts as well. A dessert queen, she made wonderful fudge, and candy and cakes, and had the best times baking with her daughter, and grand children. She loved being on her daughter’s farm, and helping with chores, or whatever she could. She was a caring, spiritual woman, who taught her grandkids to pray, cook, peel boiled eggs, to have good manners, and have respect, and was a caregiver like no other. She was Nanny to her grandkids,  and to lots of other kids as well. She was talented in many ways, painting and crafting, and loved to swim and be at the beach. Jeanie loved her special cousins, Vivian Lowe Whitter, Glenna Baker Lowe , Linda Lowe, and Jody Dudek. They shared a lifelong bond that could never be broken. Loved by all who knew her, and will be missed beyond words. In addition to her parents James Frank Lowe, and  Nancy Margaret Peveler Lowe, she was preceded in death by her sister, Lorraine Lowe Peveler, and brother James Stephen Lowe “Steve”, and niece LeAra Danielle Lowe.      She is survived by her husband Roscoe M. Church “Buster”, daughter, Margaret "Maggie" Pollock Riffe Hannon and husband Harley; grandsons, Tristan R.Yonce (Hillary), Corey A. Lowe (Jessie), and Patrick S. Lowe (Barrett); grand daughters, Tiffany Riffe Young (Richard), Felecia Riffe Dunn (Taylor), Kayla Riffe Morrison, and Felicia Yonce; great grandsons, Otis Robin Yonce, Brody Lowe; great grand daughters, Harley Rosemarie Young ”ROSIE”, Olivia Pearl Young “Opy”, Mollie Grace Dunn, Polli Jane Lowe, Stevie Morrison and RyLee Jean Morrison; nephews, Scott S. All friends and family will be welcome.      Memorials can be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Memorial Research Hospital which was a very worthy cause that was near, and dear to her heart, and she herself donated to it on a regular basis for many years.
