Janie Clark Moore

Janie Clark Moore, 87, of Gulf died Tuesday, April 14, 2015 at Central Carolina Hospital, Sanford. Mrs. Moore was born In Chatham County on April 19, 1927 the daughter of Jordan Tysor and Lessie Ann (Dowdy) Clark. She was retired from Kayser Roth Distribution Center in Goldston. Janie was an active member of Bethany Baptist Church where she was a member of the Willing Workers Sunday School Class. Janie liked being outside and enjoyed long walks exploring in the woods. She was preceded in death by her husband, Spurgeon C. Moore, Sr; son, Spurgeon C. Moore, Jr.; her parents; brothers, Jessie, Clarence, Everette and Hugh Clark; sisters, Mary Ann Clark, Fannie Lee Oldham and Lela Evans She is survived by sister: Virginia C. Beal of Goldston, NC; grandsons, Brian Moore, Russell Moore both of Gulf, NC; great-grandchildren, Brian K. Moore, Jordyn P. Moore, Danielle N. Moore, Alex S. Moore; great-great-granddaughter, Kenleigh Sanchez. The funeral will be held on Friday, April 17, 2015 at 2:00 PM at Bethany Baptist Church, 503 Alton King Road, Gulf with Rev. Clark Davis and Pastor Leslie Puryear officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church following the service in the fellowship hall.
