Jane Ward Budd

Jane Ward Budd, 89, of Liberty, peacefully left us in the night Friday, January 19, 2018 at UNC Hospitals, Chapel Hill.

Jane was born December 1, 1928 in Greensboro, to Verlie and Ethel Fogleman Ward. After a long career as Office Manager and part-owner of Langley Refrigeration Co., in Siler City, she retired to enjoy time with her family at Badin Lake. Jane loved her family dearly and spent as much time as she could with them. She was a member of Staley United Methodist Church and attended First Baptist Church in Siler City. She loved to bake, especially pound cakes and helping people. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, H. L. Langley, husband, Curtis Budd and a brother, Jimmy Ward.

She is survived by her brother; Jerry D. Ward (Faye), niece, Dawn W. Elkins (Ron); great-niece, Sarah Elizabeth Elkins; great-nephew, Justin Ward Elkins.

The funeral will be held 2:00 PM Tuesday, January 23, 2018 at the First Baptist Church, 314 N. 2nd Ave., Siler City with Rev. Tony Capehart and Rev. Jim Wall officiating. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service in the church sanctuary. Other times family will be at the home of her brother. Burial will follow the service at Staley Methodist Church Cemetery, Staley.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Capital Fund, First Baptist Church, Siler City.
