James Dorsett "Pete" Hunter of East Finch Street, Siler City died April 19, 2015 at Siler City Center.
Pete was born in Chatham County on September 27, 1933 the son of James and Mary Frances Dorsett Hunter. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Siler City and a veteran of the US Army. Pete was an Assistant Resident Engineer with the NC Department of Transportation. He retired after 43 years of service to the State of North Carolina. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Euliss Hunter; daughter-in-law, Elizabeth M. Hunter and his parents.
He is survived by his daughter, Ann Dorsett Hunter Rubio and her husband James of Atlanta, Georgia; a son, Michael Stuart Hunter of Wilmington; grandchildren, Kyle and Jared Hunter; Stuart and Rachel Buck; brother, Bill Hunter of Chapel Hill; special friend, Shirley G. White.
The funeral service will be held Tuesday, April 21, 2015 at 10:00 AM in the Smith & Buckner Funeral Home Chapel, 230 North Second Avenue, Siler City with Rev. Tony Capehart officiating. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery.
