James David "Dave" Pollok

James David "Dave" Pollok, 64, of Greensboro Avenue, Siler City died Thursday, October 30, 2014 at his home. Dave was born in Durham County on August 19, 1950 the son of James Gardner and Mary Lee (Cheek) Pollok. Dave was a member of the First Baptist Church of Siler City, where he was a Deacon, chairman of the Baptist Men, taught the LL Bradley Sunday School Class and had served on various other committees through the years. He was a certified paramedic with more than 25 years of service in Guilford and Randolph Counties. Early in his career he volunteered with the Chatham County EMS. Dave was preceded in death by a daughter, Jennifer Rececca Pollok; son, Thomas James Pollok and his parents. He is survived by his wife of 40 years: Becky (Marsh) Pollok; daughter: Mary P. Faucette and husband, Brian of Graham, NC; grandchildren, Berkley Willow and Linen Grace Faucette; sisters: Jeannie Malcolm of Greensboro, NC and Phyllis Matherson of Oak Island, NC. Dave's family connection extends deep within the Marsh family, his church family and community of friends. Gratitude is extended to his oncology doctors and nurses at Cornerstone Health Care and to his guardian angels Mike and Ellen Ludington. The family will receive friends Saturday, November 1, 2014 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Smith & Buckner Funeral Home, 230 North Second Avenue, Siler City, NC. A memorial service will be held Sunday, November 2, 2014 at 4:00 PM at First Baptist Church, 314 N. 2nd Ave., Siler City with Rev Tony Capehart and Rev. Jim Wall officiating.
