James A. "Jim" Brewer, 80, of 672 Wildlife Road, Bear Creek died Wednesday, October 2, 2013 at his residence.
Mr. Brewer was born in Chatham County on August 29, 1933 the son of Robert F. and Bessie (Jessup) Brewer. He attended Brush Creek Baptist Church, a self employed carpenter and a US Marine Corps veteran of the Korean conflict. Jim was preceded in death by a son, Anthony "Tony" Brewer and his parents.
He is survived by his wife: Ruth (Elkins) Brewer; two daughters: Kaye B. Scott and husband, Billy of Siler City, Paula B. Thomas and husband, Joseph of Raleigh, formerly of Silk Hope; sisters: Ann B. Thrift, Joan B. Webster and husband, Russell, Merlyn B. Moody and husband, Larry all of Siler City, Judy Freeman and husband, James of Pleasant Garden, Priscilla Thompson and husband, Frankie of Liberty; two brothers: H. L. Brewer and wife, Betty of Bear Creek, Robert Brewer, Jr. and wife, Hazel of Asheboro; grandchildren, Toni S. Kirchner, Travis Scott, Tracy Scott, Noah Thomas and Taylor Thomas; great-grandchildren, Korbyn and Ryden Kirchner, Oryan and Gavin Scott.
A graveside memorial service will be held Saturday, October 5, 2013 at 3:00 PM at Brush Creek Baptist Church with military rites by the Randolph County Honor Guard. A visitation will follow in the church fellowship hall.
