Irene Laverne Johnson

Irene Johnson, 87, of Siler City died Saturday, June 7, 2014 at Chatham Hospital, Inc., Siler City. She was born November 21, 1926, the daughter of Folger B. and Callie (Haith) Johnson. Irene was a native of Chatham County, a homemaker, enjoyed working in the garden, her flowers and was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by her parents and husband, J. R. Johnson. Mrs. Johnson is survived by her son: Randall Johnson and wife, Kathy of Siler City, NC, brother: Otis Johnson of Baden Lake, NC and several special nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be 2:00 PM Tuesday, June 10, 2014 at the Big Meadows Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. David Crowther officiating. The family will be receiving friends at Irene's home. Memorials may be made to the Big Meadows Primitive Baptist Church or to the donor's choice.
