Herbert Hall, 87, of Hamp Stone Rd, Siler City died Sunday, December 11, 2016 at UNC Hospitals.
Mr. Hall was born on December 2, 1929 in Altavista, VA to Henry Thomas and Ida (Lawhorn) Hall. Herbert was a graduate of Altavista High School, worked at Piggly Wiggly as a meat cutter and later served as store manager. The family moved to Siler City in 1963 where he went to work at Klopman as a loom fixer with 30 years of service. Herbert enjoyed fishing and hunting rabbits and squirrels.
Herbert was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Carlton Earl Hall, Edward Hall, James Hall and a sister, Linda Hall Story.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years: Peggy Ann (Barger) Hall; two daughters: Sandra Heidinger of Chicago, IL., Vicky Pittman and husband, Robin of Greensboro, NC; sisters, Elsie Burns of Rockingham, NC, Anna Jackson of Lynchburg, VA., Barbara Dalton of Altavista, VA and Ruth Seal of Dutton, VA; one brother: Robert D Hall of Asheboro, NC; grandchildren, Amanda Burns, Kevin Causey, Alexandra Jarman; great-grandchildren, Nora Burns, Dayja Causey, Kevin Causey, Jr, and Elsa Skjonsby.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, December 14, 2016 from 1:00 to 2:00 PM at First Baptist Church, 314 N. 2nd Ave., Siler City, NC. The funeral will follow, Wednesday at 2:00 PM at First Baptist Church with Rev. Tony Capehart officiating. Burial will be in Chatham Memorial Park, Siler City with military honors by the Randolph County Honor Guard.
