Henry Lee Fields, 93, of Siler City died Saturday, March 3, 2012 surrounded by his family. He was born November 18, 1918 in Siler City the son of the late Dave and Bessie Fields. Henry was a World War II veteran and retired as a supervisor of Selig Manufacturing Company. He was a loving husband and father that also had a great love for gardening. He was a member of Rives Chapel Baptist Church.
Mr. Fields was preceded in death by his loving wife Ruby Martin Fields, sons Ray and Bobby Fields. He was born to a family with 10 sisters and brothers that also preceded him in death. Mr. Fields is survived by his son Lynn Fields and wife Erma of Ramseur, daughters Becky and Denson Jones and Brenda and Jay McDaniel of Bennett, and daughter-in-law Susan Fields of Asheboro; grandchildren Robin Allen, Bill Fields, Tonya Dunlap, Sandy Fields, Jay McDaniel II, Christopher McDaniel and Lisa York.
The family will receive friends Monday March 5, 2012 at Smith & Buckner Funeral Home from 6pm - 8pm. Funeral services will be held at 2pm on Tuesday March 6, 2012 at Rives Chapel Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
